About Erik Martinez

Erik Martinez holds a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy during adolescence, he experienced firsthand the challenges of living with a disability. These experiences inspired him to pursue a career in counseling, where he is dedicated to helping others overcome adversity and achieve meaningful personal growth. Erik chose to study Clinical Mental Health Counseling to support adolescents and individuals with disabilities as they navigate the challenges of daily life.  Erik works with all types of clients, regardless if they have or disability or not. Erik’s goal for all his clients is to develop a positive sense of self-worth, resilience, and hope for the future.

Erik Martinez is passionate about helping clients discover their strengths, find purpose, and build the confidence needed to achieve lasting growth. He strives to create a welcoming, comfortable, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe discussing their concerns openly. His counseling approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, in which each approach is tailored to best meet the unique needs and goals of the individual.  As a counselor, Erik is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care where every individual feels heard, respected, and validated. He works collaboratively with clients to build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and foster meaningful lasting change.

Outside of the counseling office, Erik enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and playing and writing Christian music. He also participates in Bible studies with those around him. Whether you are an adolescent, an individual with a disability, or is someone simply seeking support through life's challenges, Erik Martinez is here to help you navigate your journey with compassion, understanding, and hope which will lead to a more self-fulfilling life.
