Individual counseling is a process where the client and therapist work one-on-one in a welcoming and safe place to work on their counseling goals. We offer therapy services to people ages 8 years and older.

Group counseling sessions are offered occasionally with various topics such as Stress and Anxiety Management, Personal Growth, and support groups for LGBTQ individuals. Many of our groups are free to the public and are delivered via telehealth over zoom.

Telehealth is done primarily online with internet access on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Telehealth services are offered to individuals aged 8 years and older. We ask that the client find a private quiet place to hold their telehealth counseling sessions.

​A discounted/sliding scale fee is available and dependent on client income & family size. We use the poverty guidelines to assess if client  qualifies for a discount.

Family counseling is a method to develop and maintain healthy and functional family relationships. Family therapy typically brings several family members together for therapy sessions.

Both owners of New Leaf Mental Health are Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisors in the state of Texas and offer supervision for graduate students and LPC Associates. New Leaf Mental Health offers free supervision to LPC Associates who work 4 hours a week at our clinic. Our LPC supervision fee is $250 a month to other LPC Associates.

Counseling Techniques/Approaches

Counseling techniques and approaches used will depend on the clients presenting problem, needs, and goals. Counseling approaches utilized include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Humanistic, Integrative, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing.

Substance Abuse Disorders

  • At New Leaf Mental Health, we provide practical care for substance use addiction. We treat substance use disorders in order to restore mental, emotional, and psychological health that promotes long lasting change.
