About Jasmine Ponce
Jasmine is from Brownsville, TX. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and double minors in Psychology and Theatre. She is currently a graduate student at UTRGV, pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. Jasmine is passionate about helping individuals of all ages struggling with their mental health and is dedicated to making a positive impact in the counseling field.
She has a background as a UTRGV AmeriCorps Mentor, where she helped high school seniors prepare for college enrollment; this experience strengthened her communication and teamwork skills. She also worked as a Volunteer Coordinator at CASA Cameron & Willacy Counties, where she recruited volunteers to advocate for children in the child welfare system, drawing from her own experience as a CASA advocate. Additionally, she has volunteered at Good Neighbor Settlement House and Inclusion Caboose, where she interacted with children and supported community programming.
Jasmine is committed to expanding her knowledge and abilities through her academic studies and her experiences at New Leaf Mental Health PLLC, first as a volunteer and now as an intern. Her proactive approach and dedication have allowed her to contribute meaningfully to both her team and the individuals she serves. In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Pitufo. She loves watching movies, exploring new brunch spots, cooking, baking, reading, and exercising.
Jasmine focuses on conducting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Mindfulness practices to support and guide individuals as they work toward their goals and improve their overall well-being.
